My sister posted this photo of these amazing lace tights she made for her daughter and I loved them and wanted some.
Coincidentally I think it was the very next day that Pick Your Plum offered some lace tights for cheap. I don't generally buy from Pick Your Plum very often because although they have awesome prices the Canadian shipping usually makes it not cheap anymore, these ones were worth the price though. I even gambled on the sex of our bun in the oven and bought some smaller ones as well and that paid off since she's a girl. I do love the lace cuffs that Jenn put on hers and I may do the same, we'll see though. She's only worn them once so far because it's really not quite warm enough for them but I bought a black pair as well and I look forward to some warmer weather.
After I took the above photo she wanted to see and she loved that Mr. Brown was in the picture so I took another of mostly Mr. Brown.
Playing with blocks
We seemed to have turned a corner in our photo taking. These days as long as I ask her if I can take a photo she normally she says yes and if I ask her to smile I get something awesome like this.
I bought her some new pajamas and I think they're super cute. I took a photo of Catie so we could send it to Daddy and show him her new pajamas.
When we lived with my in-laws and it rained I would suggest we go outside to play in the puddles, we'd head out only to find that there weren't any puddles. Their neighborhood drained so well there wouldn't be a single puddle to play in. Our new apartment building is clearly the opposite which Catie loves.
By the time we went inside she had three inches of water inside her boots.
Aunt Jo gave Catie some foam stickers and she loves them. She spread them all over Daddy and thought it was so funny.

What Catie Wore #70
I really did mean to post this on Wednesday but I looked and looked and could not find our camera. Then last night while laying in bed I suddenly knew exactly where to look.
I liked that her arm was randomly waving in the air
and then of course you have the second, don't take photos of me, picture
This is possibly my favourite photo that I've ever taken of her. She saw me with the camera and gave me this awesome smile.
and a little less goofy
Last week it was actually nice enough to go to the park. We didn't stay long because it was almost nap time but it was so nice to be outside wearing only sweaters.

Baby Sister
It's been quiet around here, I know. I've given you a few reasons, like I don't want to spend our tight budget on crafts and I'm in a creative funk but the biggest reason I have yet to share and it's definitely time.
This little lady has stolen all of my energy. That's right, I said lady, we're having another girl and I couldn't be more excited. Come August 13th ish Catie will be a big sister. We figure there will be no in between, she's either going to be the best big sister who loves this baby more than anything or she's going to be so jealous she can't stand to look at her. I'm obviously hoping for the first option.
You know there are those pregnant ladies that just continue on with life as if nothing has changed? You hardly even notice they're pregnant because they're just like normal? I'm not one of those ladies. I feel tired and lazy and have little desire to do much so don't expect too much from me around here in the next little bit.
Also, we're having a difficult time coming up with a name for this lady so if you have any suggestions feel free to let me know. There's just one stipulation, since we already have a Catherine who goes by Catie I want this baby to go by her full name, not a shortened nick name. Any great ideas?

Black & Gold Wrap Bracelet
This definitely isn't the first wrap bracelet that I've made but I loved the combination of black and gold. It was a gift for a friend's birthday and I lucked out and it fit perfectly.

Appliqued Onesies
I actually have multiple posts to share with you this week, it's been a long time.
Today's post are some appliqued Onesies that I put together for my sister yet somehow they never made it to her. I was invited to a baby shower for a little girl so I put them to good use I gave her these two onesies and a pair of baby booties. It made an easy but cute gift.

What Catie Wore Wednesday #69
Again, some of these are iPhone photos so they're not great but cute none the less.
Cousin Gwen came to play and they were in Catie's room, we investigated and found them playing on the change table.
Occasionally I walk into Catie's room after her nap and find her laying on the shelf, it was cute to see them both there together.
I was trying to be a good Mom this day and thinking of new and fun activities for her to do so I pulled out some rice, some cups and bowls and let her at it. She loved it, too bad I kept finding rice three days later, that stuff is hard to sweep up.
Playing with Daddy
We have an iPhone app that lets you draw and I couldn't resist saving this awesome picture that Catie drew. I think it's her first real artwork.
Okay, I know this next one is a really terrible photo but I had to share it anyway. She often gets horsey rides from Daddy and today she gave Mr. Brown a piggy back ride.
We had a bad day last week and I wanted to do something fun for Catie so I blew up a couple balloons, it did the trick and she played with them for quite some time. I drew the line when she wanted to take them to bed with her for a nap.
And a special video bonus today, singing Once There was a Snowman with Daddy.

Blue Jewelery Holder
Probably 6 months ago my Mother-in-law asked if I would make her a Jewellery Holder. It's recently come to my attention that if a project isn't my idea I have very little motivation and it takes me far too long to complete it. When her birthday rolled around this was the perfect time and the perfect kick to get me to finish.
Now here's where I admit I didn't take a before picture. I had such a clear picture in my mind of what I wanted it to end up looking like that the transformation seemed like no big deal to me. It was only when my sister-in-law saw it and was impressed with the change that I realized it really did change a lot. I'll show you the after and then we can talk about the before.
Before the small section at the top was a cork board and the bigger area was a mirror. It was the classic orangey wood tone that we've all got used to covering up. I punched out the cork and mirror and sanded down the finish on the wood. I spray painted it blue but the blue was a little brighter that I though my Mother-in-law would like. I'd planned on glazing the frame but it seemed more my style than hers so instead I glazed it (white washed it?) instead. I took some white paint and watered it down and then using a rag I gently brushed that over the frame. It toned down the blue nicely and gave it just the look I was going for. The hooks I included are for curtains, they hook in really easily and securely and they're super cheap at the fabric store.
I love the way it turned out and my Mother-in-law was very happy with it.
