Deer Head Coaster

So how does everyone feel about the deer head trend? Have you noticed it at all? I sure have and I love it. There are an specially large amount of deer head silhouettes kicking around and I knew I wanted one for my living room.

Plus I have my awesome coffee table. Story for you, my sister-in-law came over and we had glasses of water that got placed onto the coffee table. I sat there thinking about the money I spent on that coffee table paired with the water dripping off her glass and it made me a little crazy until I finally reached over and wiped off her glass. Like a loser. So perhaps some coasters were called for.

I found these teak square ones at TJ Max for $8.00, a perfect blank canvas.

A little modpodge and glitter, paired with a vinyl stencil.

I didn't love the twine they'd threaded so I replaced it with some bakers twine. Probably not the greatest colour but it was that or red and that seemed too Christmasy.

I have four of them but it's a bit much for the coffee table so I've put two of them away.

I can now comfortably forget about the water and my coffee table and act like a grown up yet I also get to love my sparkly, deer head coasters.

Vinyl Seagull T

I bought a shirt for Eden the other day and while it was cute it was also a little plain so I jazzed it up with some cute seagulls. I was using my silhouette for another project so I used it to cut these out at the same time but you could easily cut them out by hand.

I love this sparkly glitter. They look kind of subtle on the grey but I think they're really cute.

My favourite part is every time I point them out to Eden she makes seagull noises.

My Little Pony T-Shirt Part 2

So I made a t-shirt for Catie and I love it and she loves it.  And then they came out with a My Little Pony movie and we made plans to see the movie with some friends.  Sadly those plans fell through and the girls had to go without us but they needed to go in style so I put together some shirts for them.  There are a lot of them so get ready.

To make all of these shirts I used my Silhouette and iron on vinyl.  Most of it is flocked but a couple of them are smooth.

We asked all the girls what they're favourite ponies were and used those characters for their shirts.  Here we go,

Applejack

A shirt dedicated to Rainbow Dash.

Pinkie Pie, love this one, especially on the pink shirt!

And another Pinkie Pie, how awesome is this one?  Love it even more than the last.

Princess Celestia turned out better than I thought it would, and check out that tiny cutie mark on the shirt sleeve.  There may have been tears of joy shed over this one (oh and not by me, by the owner).

The shirts for the girls were a big hit but we didn't stop there.  We had three ladies taking these girls so we made them shirts as well.

Rarity looks so fancy in white.  It's hard to see on the black shirt but this silhouette is down on the right hand corner of the shirt.

I loved these three silhouettes, I think they look classy (if My Little Ponies can look classy).

And lastly we made another Rarity, this one looks so great.  This image is again down in the bottom corner.
Then on the back shoulder of this shirt we added some diamonds.

So these girls all had a great time at the movie but none of these shirts took care of Catie.  We made plans for Catie and her two cousins to go together and they couldn't go without a shirt either.  Catie already had a shirt but I wanted her to have something new and I had a spare white shirt for her anyway. Twilight Sparkle is Catie's favourite but I think she has the least interesting Silhouette so I got a little fancy with this one, I love all the details.  And also I just wanted to add more and more to these shirts so on the back I added a Silhouette of Spike. She loved that part even more than I thought she would.

I let Catie choose who should be on her cousin's shirts so for Gwen she picked Rainbow Dash.  I loved the one I did above with all the different poses but that was a larger shirt, I knew they'd be way too tiny if I tried to use all 6 of them so instead I just chose my favourite four.  Then I added a basic silhouette of her to the back of the shirt.

and lastly she chose Fluttershy for Bryn.  This is easily my favourite MLP shirt I've made.  I found an image of the silhouette on this Etsy shop and used it for my image and then added a little Angel bunny beside her and a cute little squirrel on the back.

All three girls loved their shirts and looked super cute going to the movie together.  Success!

That's probably the end of MLP shirts for a while, I've outfitted most of the fans I know.

Chocolate Pants, Vinyl Detail

Catie's Pants out of Pants turned out so well that I decided I wanted to make another pair.

Once upon a time I decided to make a maxi skirt for myself.  I headed to to fabric store with my Mom and grabbed some brown jersey, my Mom asked if I was sure I wanted to use that fabric, I assured her it was perfect.  Surprise surprise, she was right and it wasn't awesome fabric, plus the skirt was a total fail.  Meaning I have had brown jersey hanging around so I cut up my awesome skirt to make these pants.

These pants are so close to perfect I'm incredible pleased with myself (pardon my self flattery).  Everything went so well and they fit great and she loves them, win, win win.

Catie had some old brown pants that no longer fit and they had this little pink hard on the hip and she loved that silly heart so I figured she'd like some white, heat flocked added.  I picked the scripty heart and I think it was a good choice.

The heart had a little heart cutout so I added that to the back, I'm pretty sure that's her favourite part.

So the pants fit well, they're super comfy and I'm resisting the urge to make her three more pairs of brown stretchy pants... a girl only needs so many brown pants.

My Little Pony T-Shirt

I saw this idea today and instantly loved it.  I like that it's a character t-shirt but subtle and not knock you over the head.  I knew I'd make one as soon as I saw it only at this house we have no interest in Star Wars.  We do happen to have a thing for My Little Pony.

I went online and found some photos of Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy and then using the Silhouette software I traced around the images.  This gave me the nice silhouettes.  I was going to cut out their cutie marks too but they were so tiny that I decided to pass.  I cut the image onto the pink, heat flocked vinyl and ironed it onto a plain white $4 shirt I recently bought at Walmart.

I just ordered this vinyl and when it came I didn't think I liked the colour, I was a little disappointed but once I ironed it and peeled off the plastic it turned out I love it.  Especially since the shirt already had that hot pink trim on the neck.

I think my favourite part are the delicate, adorable eyelashes that turned out so well.

Now Catie just needs to wake from her nap so I can show it to her, she's going to be thrilled.
