What Catie Wore Wednesday #53

This picture wasn't actually taken this week but I kept forgetting to post it.  I've mentioned before that Catie and I drink a smoothie for breakfast every morning.  I give her a glass to herself with the rest of her breakfast but most of the time she ends up like this.

Remember this sweater?  She wore it last winter and it's been pulled out again this fall.  I thought I'd give you a side by side of then and now.

We went to a park today and they had this fun saucer swing.

We went to play at Gwen's house the other day and they don't have any grass yet so they have a yard full of dirt, Gwen and Catie enjoyed it a lot.

Then they played with sidewalk chalk and needed a bath.

I had to take squares to a church event and I figured I'd have Catie help me.  All was going well until a little mishap with the mixer.  Brad and I were left unscathed but Catie got the worst of it.  She was really surprised and really unhappy and it took quite a while to clean her up and calm her down.

She has a serious thing for rocks

Again today, playing in the yard.

What Catie Wore Wednesday #52

Cousin Gwen has a trampoline and these three ladies spend a whole lot of time together jumping.  They play ring around the rosie and do a lot of bum drops.

For her birthday Catie was given some finger paints so we tried them out today.

I know it looks like she was nice and neat and barely getting her fingers in the paint but this was very early in the painting.  The clean up definitely required a bath and filled page after page.

While she was painting I asked her to tell me some animal sounds and it's pretty adorable.

Playing in the yard

While I was at my craft fair Daddy played with Catie and cousin Riley and took some photos for me.

Sunday, time to pull out the tights

And then later in the day the girls wanted to jump on the trampoline and it was cold so we added some layers.

We went to the zoo today

This seagull didn't stand a chance, it got mercilessly chased around.  You'd think it would just fly away but instead it just ran and ran while Catie giggled and gave chase.

The Kids Show

The sale is over and I'm so relieved, it went pretty well.  I came home with 4 frames that I'm going to offer for sale here on the blog but I think I'm going to change the fabric in two of them so give me some time to put them together.

Today I thought I'd show you my set up for the fair.

I displayed all of my frames on two doors and a screen that we hinged together.  The screen in the middle held my jewelry organizers and the doors held frames, both the front and back.

These two shots show the backsides of the doors.

Beside the doors I had my table.  I used a white table cloth and a white table skirt and I made a fabric pennant banner to go around.  On the table I displayed my own make-up board and jewelry organizer so people could see exactly what I was selling.

The basket holds make-up so I can show how I used to store my make-up and what an improvement the board is.  One of my favorite parts of the entire display was my business card holder.  I got the idea here, I used a slinky and slipped my cards in.  When people wanted one they just pulled it out.

You can see that on the bottom of my cards I sewed a zig zag line with purple thread.  It gave it an extra pop.

Here's one more photo of my booth

I'm glad I did it, it was successful but I'm not sure I would do it again because it was really a lot of work.

Make-up Magnet Board Round-up

Everyone remember about my sale tomorrow?  This Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm I'll be at the Garth Veal Ice Arena in Magrath at the Kids Show.  I'll be there with a large stock of Make-up Boards and Jewelry Organizers.  Since I first posted about my make-up board they've started to pop up all over the internet.  I thought as one final way to keep these boards and this sale at the front of your mind I'd do a round up of just some of the make-up boards I've seen floating around (I especially appreciated those that took the time to link back to me, to show a little blog etiquette).

Beautylish shares a really pretty tutorial, I like the subtle fabric choice.

Alexa Gianna made hers a strip of fabric covered metal instead of a large frame.  Would work well for a specific space and not too much make up.

Janessa shared her cute board on her blog.  I like how she hung it with ribbon and the thick wood is really cute too.

The Momnivore added cute labels to each section, love it.

Mandy from Sugar Bee Crafts simplified the process by using a metal bulletin board she found at Ikea.  I don't know why I haven't thought of adding my bobby pins to the board, I can't ever keep track of those things.
Feisonista added little personalized words of inspiration, just what you need first thing in the morning.

Bipolar Spirit also used a magnet board, I like the shelf underneath, would be very handy.

I love Ginger Goddess's.  The paper she used is just gorgeous and she found a really interesting frame, I think hers really pops.

Audra at the Kurtz Corner embellished her cup.

Liz Marie had enough make up to require two boards side by side, and check out how she stores her brushes.

AnJayla got creative and used an old cookie sheet.  She was also really clever, all of her make-up is the same brand and they all have black lids so she put the magnets on the lid instead so she could see the colour on the bottom.

I love Jami's fabric choice and the distressing on her frame is the perfect compliment.

And lastly is Priscilla, who rather than hang it on the wall uses an easel to display her board.

These aren't the only boards out there but just a few I could find.  Hopefully you've been inspired and reminded just how useful these are so that on Saturday you'll come on down and buy one from me.  If you live far away then I'm sorry but chances are I'll have some stock to offer up on the blog.

Thanks for putting up with my advertising, I swear this will be the end of it.

What Catie Wore Wednesday #51

These will probably be the last of our outdoor fun pictures, fall has certainly set in.

Thursday
We went to Bryn's house to play on the deck only I couldn't find Catie's bathing suit so she just wore a diaper.  They had a great time.

Saturday
Brad played in a softball game on Saturday so we went to watch.  Catie loved all the running around and all the balls.

Tuesday
The duck and the horse are part of the Little People set she got for her birthday, she carried them around all day going quack, quack and NAY, NAY (she always yells the nay)

As a special treat I have a video today.  She did this all on her own with no instructions from Brad or I.
