Horsie Rides

These girls love each other as much as ever.  One of their favourite activities is horsie rides with Daddy, usually they take turns but I particularly love when they ride together.

But this is even better (note that Eden is wearing Catie's shirt)

Videos of the Girls

A couple of random videos I've taken recently.

Catie's preschool had a Christmas concert (I'm sure it wasn't called Christmas) and they did all sorts of songs and one dance.  The dance was my favourite.  I especially like when her teacher comes in the video so you can see what they're supposed to be doing (it's not a great video and I think only a grandparent will love it).

This video needs no introduction.  Though the video's a couple months old and I can't believe how much younger she looks.

And lastly, a little bath tub peek a boo

Brad's Birthday

Brad turned 30 this year and as part of our celebration I thought we'd call him during the day and Catie could sing happy birthday to him.  Only once she got on the phone she got stage fright and clammed up, refusing to sing at all.   I convinced her to take a video of her singing instead which turned out to be even better because now we have it recorded.  I think the squirrel (that she oddly named Auntie) gave her courage.

For Brad's gift I gave him two nerf guns.  They were as big a hit as I had hoped and we'v got hours of enjoyment out of them already.

Gymnastics 2013

Catie has been doing gymnastics for a long time and she's a star. At the end of each semester we get to go and watch and we can take videos.  I'm sure only me and grandparents will enjoy them but I think they're awesome.  Enjoy.

Balance Beam somersault

Her favourite trampoline Bounce

She does an awesome cartwheel

Balance beaming

She hung out here for a while, just cause she can

Handstands

And Eden even gets to play.  She was a superstar and hung on a bar, it's hard to tell but Coach Laura isn't holding on to her here.  I think she's a gymnast in the making.

In addition to gymnastics we added a ballet class.

She class is so cute, her teacher is graceful and lovely and the kids are like elephants.  I love it, though Catie's unsure is she likes it or not.  It's not something that comes as easily as gymnastics but I think she's warming up to it.

What Catie Sang/Said Friday

Allrighty, it's only one day late but as promised on Wednesday here is a post full of adorable Catie videos.  Now it's possible this post is going to be really boring for everyone but Grandma and I should probably split them up into multiple posts but I'm not going to.  I also won't be offended if you're bored.

These first couple are all her singing different songs, first up is Popcorn Popping.  Keep in mind this was first thing in the morning and I'm wearing zero make-up and have done nothing to my hair.

The Wise Man and the Foolish Man

Ba Ba Black Sheep - this is one of my favourites that she sings

When Daddy Comes Home - She's usually better at this one but I kind of had to talk her into it.  I had this great idea that I would secretly teach her this song a few weeks before Father's Day and then she could surprise him on the actual day but she loved the song so much she kept asking to sing the, "Daddy Song".  Brad kept asking what she was saying so we gave in and sang it really early.  We've been singing it nonstop since.

Okay, if you're still with me I have three more videos.

This first one is a conversation that I wanted to go a bit better but you'll get the idea.  We go to Calaway Park a lot, you know this because I mention it a lot and I had the brilliant idea that we should go in the haunted house.  I thought she'd like it because of the Backyardigans episode with the spooky ghosts.  I knew it was a really tame house, nothing jumps out at you, it's just really dark and they play spooky music.

It didn't take long to figure out I was wrong that she would like the house and we carried her out in tears.  Since then she's been on a loop and cannot stop talking about the spooky house, with it's spooky music and how it was really dark and she was really crying.  Let's get out of here she tells us and is very certain she doesn't want to go back.

A video of one of Catie and Daddy's favourite games.

And lastly, Catie's first ride on the Bumper Cars.  Initially she was stuck but once I got her going she did better than I thought she would.

Mother's Day Slide Show

I know things have been quiet around here but I actually have a couple projects to show you next week so come back and see.

I was given a lovely Mother's Day gift from Brad and I wanted to share it, especially with Grandma.

Thanks my love

A Video for Grandma

Grandpops and Grandma Wiebe found this cute toy that all the little girls loved.  When they picked it up their arms would vibrate and wiggle, so cute.  It was the hit of Christmas Day.

Sadly, it appears there isn't any sound so you can't hear the cute noises that went with her actions.

Create

I found this on a friends blog and loved how it described just how I'm feeling about these projects I've done lately.  At least it makes my obsession feel validated and worthwhile :)

I have a bunch more projects to share I just haven't got around to uploading my video but stay tuned.

Door Stop

Catie found the door stop the other day, so cute.

(Sorry about the sideway video.  I forget that the iPhone can be turned sideway but the camera needs to be turned the other way, you'll just have to turn your neck.)

Kicking

Catie loves her exersaucer, there are lots of fun things for her to do in it.  It has different heights so as she grows she can be pulled up higher so it grows with her and she's already been moved to the second level.

Brad and I decided the other day that she was ready to be moved up another level but apparently it was a little premature as her legs dangled and she couldn't touch the floor at all anymore.  We had a good laugh before lowering her down again.

Catie Video

I just discovered that when I download photos off my camera the videos has been saving somewhere else.  This is a video I took a couple weeks ago to show how well she gets around.  She moves even better now but I still thought this was adorable.

Laughing means I love you

This is one of those videos that some of you will probably be bored with and a few will really love.

As a preface, I'm aware that it's a really bad video but it's the sound that matters so much more than the picture although the little smile at the end makes me happy.  I was home alone, playing with Catie and filming with my iPhone so you can imagine how great a picture I got.  Just turn up the volume and enjoy a few precious moments of baby laughter.

This is Catie playing with my hair (she LOVES hair).

Raspberries

Catie's favorite pastime these days is making this awesome noise.  I love it and it makes me chuckle every time.  (Sorry the video is so shaky at the start, it gets better.  It's also not the greatest quality but it's the noise that's important.)

I've also been struck with just how HUGE she's gotten lately.  I look at her everyday and think where did that huge belly come from.  She's sure packing on the pounds in preparation for her next growth spurt.

Video Time

This past week Brad and I went to see Avatar (possible post on that to come) so we left Catie with Michelle for the evening.  This is the first time we've left her at someone else's house so I was a little nervous.  Not nervous that Michelle couldn't handle it and realistically not nervous that Catie wouldn't be the amazingly well behaved girl that she is but nervous that the evening would be the exception to her good behaviour and that Michelle would have to deal with something out of the ordinary.

We were very pleased when we returned to hear that things had gone really well and Michelle had the best video to prove it.  Below is Porter and Catie hanging out, enjoy.

Daddy's Girl

This past semester in school Brad has been really busy so there were often days where we wouldn't see much of him, he'd go to school all day and then have homework at night.  I worried a little that he didn't get to spend much time with Catie, I didn't want either of them to miss each other but Catie has constantly proven that I don't need to worry.  She sure loves her Daddy and shows it by saving her best smiles for him.  She beams when she sees him and they have a good time playing together.  Tonight she gave us her best laughs yet and thought it was so funny to punch Daddy in the face.  It made her smile and giggle until all three of us were near tears.  She then took a horsie ride on Daddy's knee.

This isn't the greatest video but the last couple seconds are worth it, there's nothing better than a babies first laugh.

Video Time

I thought the Grandma's would appreciate hearing the cute noises Catie is making these days so enjoy the video below.  As for the rest of you, don't worry it's only a 30 second video.

Video

Andrew shared this video and I was so impressed that I wanted a few others to see it.

For optimal viewing results I recommend making it full screen and turning out all the lights.  Make sure your sound is on, the music is half the beauty.

Mom, you'll probably think it's boring but Brad and I were amazed and I've already watched it multiple times and researched the facility.

Advanced

According to most development charts Catie is doing awesome. Most charts have three categories: Most Children Can do, Half of Children can Do, and a Few Children Can Do. I'm pleased to report that at two months of age Catie can do everything in the column that only a few children can do. She holds her head steady, bears weight on her legs and lifts her head and shoulders into a mini push-up.

I'm so proud of my girl!

Here's a bonus video, be prepared for the cutest sound you've ever heard.

Mae

Okay, so I may be overdoing the Mae promotion (and Mom will hate this post) but I was excited to hear the two missed songs and just in case you are too you can listen to them below.

Late to the Party

So I know this video is all over YouTube and if you're anything like me you thought, "Sheep LED? Random, I'll watch it some other time." And then before you know it three weeks have gone by.

Well today I was sick of seeing the video and not understanding or thinking I'll watch it later.

The video is just so much more awesome than I could have imagined. I think it's the music that really pushes it over the top but if you haven't watched it yet you should, because it's awesome.
